The Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies Honors Program |

Students who have been accepted into the honors program may graduate
with their honors BA in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. GWSS
offers many honors opportunities in its courses, and GWSS faculty
regularly teach honors seminars. If you are interested in honors,
you must first be admitted to the honors program. Honors Requirements in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies * Complete 2 honors courses in the major, at least one of which is to be at the 4xxx level. As an alternative to one of these honors courses, the student may, with the consent of the instructor, take a non-honors Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies course for honors credit through an honors contract. If there are no GWSS honors opportunities available, you may, with the permission of the Director of Undergraduate Studies, take one of your required honors courses in another department. * Complete an Honors senior project in the form of major research or creative project. The GWSS honors senior project may be completed in any course satisfying the senior project requirement. It must conform to both the guidelines set by Honors and those set by the Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. Students pursuing summa theses should discuss options in detail with the GWSS undergraduate adviser or Director of Undergaduate Studies. |
